The impact of remote work on city centers threatens to destabilize the economic progress that Buffalo and other cities in New York have made over the past two decades. The city of Buffalo initiated the Queen City Hub Revisited initiative along with the University at Buffalo Center of Urban Excellence, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, Erie County, Invest Buffalo Niagara, Buffalo Place, NAIOP, and others to understand the impact of remote work on the city center. One third of employees are no longer traveling to downtown for work, impacting commercial real estate, local businesses and the overall vitality of our city center.
A new strategy, purpose and toolkit will be required for the revitalization of downtown Buffalo and to adapt into a more sustainable, climate resilient place to live work and play. Please join us for a presentation from the Queen City Hub Revisited team and local business leaders, providing the first peak at the new economic development framework we are advocating for downtown Buffalo.
